This year for Thanksgiving we headed to Nashville and Gaylord Opryland. For our big Thanksgiving Feast we had Jack in the Box for lunch and Finley's Irish Pub for Dinner. Not too exciting....
This is one of MANY picutres that Jenneth wanted to take in front of the waterfalls that we walked under. I spared you several of them....
For lunch on Friday we went to The Aquarium Restaurant and had a Fantastic meal. It was the perfect place for the kids as they walked around the tank when they were bored and Brian and I got to just sit and talk. GREAT LUNCH !!!
It is hard to tell, but we were there while they were feeding the fish and the diver is in the background. Pretty eerie when he would feed the Eel.
And the server asked if we were interested in Dessert....Seriously, did he really not see that one coming with this group?????
And of course what is a trip to a hotel without swimming?? Jenneth insisted we "shut down" the pool....which we did. The pool was really nice. It was a salt water pool.
Not my greatest picture as I was hoping to capture the size of this Christmas tree. It was in the Delta Atrium and was just absolutely HUGE and Beautiful.
The highlight of our trip was ICE's Shrek the Halls. This was the neatest thing for all of us. Granted it was 9 degrees, but they gave us these oozie coozie parkas to go over the coats that we already had on.
My only complaint is that there are no restrooms. Of course Jenneth has to go about half way through...so we walk the rest of the way and proceed to take off the many layers that we have, but to just put them right back on and go back in. Just a suggestion to have a bathroom for a kids attraction.
Here is Tristen with Shrek's triplets behind him on the sled. Everything you see in the pictures is ice !!!
Of course we had to made a stop at Shrek's "outhouse"
Here is Jenneth going down the kids ice slide. Jenneth was able to go down her slide 4 times while Brian and Tristen held our place in line for the adult slide. Just a tad cold waiting in line....
but well worth it. Here is Tristen coming down.
And here I am coming off the slide. Poor Brian went down first so he could take the pictures.
Tristen and Donkey.
This picture is only a small portion of the Dragon. I wish you could just see how big this was and I am just amazed at all the colors that are used throughout.
In the last room was The Nativity and this picture does not do its justice. As the story of Jesus' birth is told, different parts of the Nativity light up. If you are in Nashville and can do this, it is worth it. They showed a short movie before we went in on how this was made. There is a team from China that comes to Nashville to do this and the man hours that go into it are truly a talent.
The annual Santa Picture...
At dinner on Sunday night Brian and I decided to have some adult beverages as we only had to walk back to our room !
