President's Weekend

For President's Weekend, we decided to get out of town and head to Cincinnati.  We of course picked the busiest day EVER to go to Newport Aquarium.  I had purchased the tickets online and selected a time in which I thought we would show up.  We quickly figured out what a happy accident that was.....There was a 2 hour wait just to buy tickets.  It really was a day in which broke all attendance records for the Aquarium.
Brian and the kids were waiting in the sun as I was in the shade in line for our 2pm time slot.  Only had to wait 15 minutes......not so bad since it was FREEZING !!!!

Here is Jaws (as we called him)  He swam with his mouth open the entire time with those beady eyes just looking at you.

And a family picture with Jaws.

This picture does not do its justice but this was the coolest Tiger Shark.

Nope, not spiders.  GIANT Crabs.  I know they had a more "official" title than that, but they were gross. Opp! Brian just told me they were Giant Spider Crabs!!  I had all the right words!!

This guy was Brian and the kids favorite.  He would "dance" back and forth along the window.  You could have sworn he knew he was entertaining the crowd. Tristen and Brian said they saw this guy on Men In Black!

The boys with the Crabs

So this line took about 30 minutes !!!!  This was Mighty Mike.  The largest American Alligator in captivity.  And he was here for just a short period of time.  As a matter of fact, a week from that day he was headed out.

Again, the picture does not truly show the actual size.  He was a biggie !!

We now moved into the Frog Bog....And of course a family photo opportunity.

The Penguins....

And last but not least....Tristen had to weigh himself on the fish scale.

After 4 hours at the Aquarium...it is time for some some good food, beer, and dancing at The Hofbrahaus.  When it was time to get on the benches and dance.....that is exactly what I did.

I look over at the kids....and they are covering their eyes and pleading with me to stop as I am embarrassing them.  As only a good Mother would right ?????

Brian on the other hand was teaching Jenneth how to get a french fry to stick in her nose.....

So we check into the hotel and my friend has upgraded up to The Presidential Suite.  Brian and Tristen have decided that they are going to entertain us with their singing and playing.  Jenneth and I decided to check out the rest of the suite instead.

To end the wonderful stay at the hotel I have to share a story:  The next morning we told the kids to put on their jeans from the day before, so we could go down for breakfast and that we would come back up to shower.  So we are sitting at Breakfast and Tristen reaches under the table for something that he dropped.  He comes up instead with a pair of Hello Kitty Panties and asked "Jenneth, why did you bring your panties to breakfast?"  Jenneth replies "I did not bring them down, those are the ones that I wore yesterday."  As Brian and I have tears in our eyes and people are looking at us (you all know what a loud laugh I have) we figure out that Jenneth was in such a rush from the night before to get ready to swim, that the panties were in one of the legs of the jeans and from walking down to breakfast, it had worked it's way out.

This is Jenneth's Team Picture from Gymnastics this year.

Ok, so moving back into January.  The kids and I went to see Disney on Ice and had a great time.  Below are some of the better pictures that we had to share with everyone.

Of course Mickey and Minnie Mouse

The Cars had to be the most impressive.

Our favorite was Toy Story 3

Little Mermaid

Tinkerbell and The Fairies
